My last submission to the contest was a small diorama I call 'Feast of
vultures', with dead Canaanite and Egyptian soldiers surrounded by
vultures.
The vultures are from Foundry and were sent as freebies with
my Shasu Bedouins. Not wanting free stuff to go to waste I figured I had to
find a way to include these animals in my biblical project. Mostly it's for the
looks but maybe I could use them as a marker of some kind.
The casualty figures
are also Foundry. I find the addition of a couple vignettes really
helps gives personality to an army, as well as making nice tabletop
decorations. They are also a nice distraction in between painting units.
A great base, nice work!
ReplyDeleteI still think these are great
ReplyDeleteIan
Thanks Ray & Ian. It was a fun little piece to paint.
ReplyDeleteGreat vignette, figures and base are wonderful!
ReplyDeletePhil.
Thanks Phil!
DeleteI like this one. The egyptian corpse with the linen cloth is very realistic. I can't tell about the size of the vultures... They look pretty oversized, don't they? But you did a great paint job with them anyway.
ReplyDeleteÀ bientôt amigo.
Nico.
Thanks Nico! Maybe a bit oversized, but I've seen some pics of Vultures next to human corpses and they are really big birds!
DeleteVultures do look big but I they are quite big anyway?? However do like a bit of blood and guts on a base. Like it. You should highlight some more photos of this wonderful army on TMP.
ReplyDeleteMy plan this year is complete Hebrew and Philistine among others.
Thanks Colin. I thought the subject was already grisly enough so decided to forgo blood and such ;-)
DeleteAlthough you are right in that Vultures are big animals.
I will follow your Hebrews and Philistine projects with interest.
